BASF SUBMITS REGULATORY DOSSIERS FOR (DIMPROPYRIDAZ INSECTICIDES) UNDER THE BRAND NAME AXALION

DIMPROPYRIDAZ NEW INSECTICIDE FROM BASF SUBMITTED FOR REGULATORY REGISTRATION

Dimpropyridaz_BASF

Axalion (Dimpropyridaz) is pyrazole carboxamide class of insecticides. Dimpropyridaz chemically is a pyrazole carboxamide insecticide that has a pyridin-3-yl group, as in tyclopyrazoflor. Dimpropyridaz is effective against aphids. Dimpropyridaz mechanism of action is unknown.

BASF has announced that it has submitted regulatory dossiers for the new insecticide Axalion (dimpropyridaz) in Australia and Korea, with additional registration submissions planned for the EU, Brazil, and India in 2021, as well as other key markets in the coming years. Pending regulatory approval, BASF expects first market introductions of Axalion-based products from 2023 in Australia and Korea, 2024 in India, and 2026 in the EU.

Axalion (dimpropyridaz) is reportedly the sole representative of a unique class of chemistry discovered by BASF with a novel mode of action. The product will be registered for use in a broad range of crops in the fruits and vegetable markets, including grapes and potatoes, to control piercing and sucking insect pests, including whiteflies and aphids. Proposed uses of the product are also reported to be environmentally friendly with regard to soil and water organisms; beneficial insects, including pollinators; as well as birds.

Axalion™ product has excellent performance and can be conducted in plants. Axalion™ will be registered for many fruit and vegetable crops such as grapes and potatoes, soybeans, other legumes, cotton, grains and other field crops, as well as flowers and ornamental plants, etc., to effectively control many difficult-to-control piercing and sucking mouths Insect pests, such as whiteflies and aphids, these pests can lead to a substantial decrease in crop yields and farmers’ income.

Axalion™ can quickly stop pest feeding, reduce plant nutrient loss, prevent disease transmission, healthy plants, and improve crop yield and quality.

BASF has carried out a large number of demonstration tests, and the results show that Axalion™ is environmentally friendly to soil and aquatic organisms, and is harmless to beneficial insects such as pollinators and birds.
