Bharat Insecticides Ltd. (BIL), a group company of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Mitsui) specializing in crop protection products announced that it has changed its name to ‘Bharat Certis AgriScience Ltd.’ with effect from 1st April 2021. ‘Certis’ is Mitsui’s worldwide brand name of the distribution network for crop protection products, such as Certis USA, Certis Europe etc. and AgriScience shows the company’s commitment to contribute to the increase in productivity of agricultural industry by Science.

The new logo of ‘Bharat Certis AgriScience Ltd.’ was unveiled today in New Delhi by the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Dharmesh Gupta and Joint Managing Director, Mr. Kimihide Kondo in the presence of entire team. The logo communicates Bharat Certis AgriScience Ltd.’s promise to transform into an AgriScience company and deliver solutions for sustainable farming.  It consists of two main components of farming – water and plants. The blue colour signifies water and green signifies plants. The icon on the left signifies crops over an open circle. The crops are direct representation of the application area of company’s portfolio while the open circle represents infinite possibilities for innovation.

In order to show its endeavour towards the farmers as one of the best solution providers, the company has also prepared new Vision & Mission. The Vision is ‘Bringing Smiles with AgriScience’ and Mission is ‘Be an innovative platform to deliver solutions for sustainable farming’.

It may be recalled that Bharat Insecticides Limited got associated with Mitsui and Nippon Soda Co., Ltd. (Nisso) in Sept 2020 when they acquired 56% stake in BIL through a special purpose company co-founded by Nisso and Mitsui. As a result of this transaction, BIL become a group company of Mitsui. The relationship with Mitsui and Nisso will strengthen  Bharat Certis AgriScience Ltd.’s ability to deliver innovative crop protection products and support the sustainable growth of India’s agriculture sector.
