After skipping two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the pharmaceutical industry in Chennai is getting ready to host the seventh edition of the ‘Pharmac South’, a trade show and conference of pharmaceutical products and machinery in Chennai next year.
The Tamil Nadu chapter of the Indian Drugs Manufacturers’ Association (TN IDMA) in association with Orbit Exhibitors Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, will organise the business to business event. This year, it will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre on March 14 and 15.
J Jayaseelan, chairman of the TN IDMA, said this time the organisers expect over 200 exhibitors from all over India and overseas, and visitors will arrive from major pharma industry centred states like Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and from all parts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. He said this event will provide a unique platform for the industry players of pharma and allied sectors to understand the changing industry trends and markets. The exhibitors as well as the visitors can compare notes on the developing aspects of the industry sector with technical and regulatory personnel and engage in dialogue with major suppliers of products and services in the pharma sector.
The organisers want to make this year’s edition of the south India’s premier pharma trade expo, Pharmac South, a unique one with a record number of participation from buyers and sellers.
Varsha Surve, coordinator of Orbit Exhibitions in Mumbai, while briefing Pharmabiz, said this time the exhibitors include contract manufacturers and contract research organizations (CROs), manufacturers of neutraceuticals, dietary supplements and ayurvedic and herbal products. Allied sectors include exhibitors from pharmaceutical machinery, printing, packaging, bio-pharmaceuticals/bio-lab instruments & equipment. Besides, service providers from pharma ancillary and utility services and maintenance will also be present in the two days.
From technical and engineering side, software developers for pharmaceutical industry and management, technicians from pharmaceutical engineering/refrigeration and clean room technology, various products of analytical laboratory supplies (instruments, glassware, lab reagents –chemicals etc) and financial advisors from banks/financial sectors focusing on pharma industry will also attend to help the industry players.
The major visitors include the decision makers of the pharmaceutical companies, marketing managers, brand managers, export professionals, policy makers and technical advisors. Besides, promoters of start-up companies and of SMEs, QC managers and R&D managers. In addition to all, in the two days programme, pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers and retail business people from all the south Indian states will participate.
Jayaseelan said scientific and industry based informative conferences and motivational speeches will also be conducted as part of the event.
