In March 2022, the public information from China’s Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) showed that Rainbow was granted three export only registrations for product spiromesifen 98%TC, tembotrione 96% TC and fosamine-ammonium 54% TK, the detailed information are as follows:
About Rainbow: Rainbow Agro is a global leading crop protection company, was founded in Jinan, China, in 2005 by a group of entrepreneurs, and now it is one of the world’s top eleven agrochemical companies.
About Tembotrione Technical:
Tembotrione is an aromatic ketone that is 2-benzoylcyclohexane-1,3-dione in which the phenyl group is substituted at positions 2, 3, and 4 by chlorine, (2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)methyl, and methylsulfonyl groups, respectively.
- IUPAC Name: 2-[2-chloro-4-methylsulfonyl-3-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxymethyl)benzoyl]cyclohexane-1,3-dione
- European Community (EC) Number: 608-879-8
- CAS RN: 335104-84-2
- Molecular Weight: 440.8
Tembotrione, triketone compound obtained by Bayer by optimizing the structure of sulcotrione, enjoys higher activity than that of mesotrione, the leading product of HPPD inhibitor herbicide, with shorter application period and more resistance to rain erosion. On Sept., 2019, the compound patent of tembotrione in China expired. The registration obtained by Runfeng this time is the third tembotrione TC registration certificate approved by ICAMA.
About Spiromesifen Technical:
Spiromesifen is a butenolide that is but-2-en-4-olide bearing a 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl group at position 3, a 3,3-dimethylbutyryloxy group at position 4 and a spiro-fused cyclopentyl ring at position 5. It has a role as an insecticide. It derives from a 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene and a 3,3-dimethylbutyric acid.
- CAS RN:283594-90-1
- IUPAC:[2-oxo-3-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-1-oxaspiro[4.4]non-3-en-4-yl] 3,3-dimethylbutanoate
Spiromesifen is also developed by Bayer, which acts as a very effective insecticide and miticide that controls red spider mite in brinjal, whitefly & mite in cotton, European red mite & red spider mite in apple, chili & Okra, yellow mite in chili, etc. While the market for Spiromesifen in North America, Latin America, Europe, Brazil, Spain, and Germany is growing at a moderate rate, there is a huge demand for this in the Asia Pacific and it is growing significantly.
About Fosamine Ammonium Technical:
Fosamine ammonium is an herbicide/plant growth regulator used to control brush and herbaceous plants on noncropland. It is applied to nonagricultural rights-of-way (e.g. highways, railroads, and utilities), industrial sites, and fencerows.
- CAS RN:25954-13-6
- IUPAC:azanium; carbamoyl(ethoxy)phosphinate
Fosamine ammonium is formulated in end use products as a water soluble liquid. It is applied once per year from Spring to early Fall, by aircraft, backpack and handwands. After application, the brush control effects of the pesticide are achieved by inhibiting bud growth the following year.
Fosamine-ammonium is an organic phosphine plant growth regulator, first developed by DuPont in 1974. Phosphine can control the growth of various weeds and shrubs to promote the growth and development of target tree species.
