The Central Insecticides Board & Registration Committee (CIBRC), during its 467th meeting held on October 10, 2025, approved several new registrations under Section 9(3) of the Insecticides Act, 1968, covering both Technical Indigenous Manufacture (TIM) and Formulated Indigenous Manufacture (FIM) categories. Key industry players including Syngenta India, UPL, SML, Tagros Chemicals, Gharda Chemicals, and Willowood Chemicals received approvals for a range of herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides aimed at improving crop protection in rice, chilli, tomato, cabbage, grape, and chickpea.
The approvals include Syngenta’s rice formulation combining Sedaxane, Azoxystrobin, and Thiamethoxam; UPL’s technical products Fluxapyroxad and Cyantraniliprole; SML’s Copper Hydroxide technical; Tagros’s Spirotetramat technical with environmental safety conditions; Willowood’s Azoxystrobin + Boscalid fungicidal combination for chilli and grapes; and Gharda’s Indoxacarb + Chlorantraniliprole insecticide for vegetable and pulse crops, subject to fixation of MRLs.
Detailed Company Wise Formulation & Technical Approvals
1. Syngenta India Ltd.
Application: For grant of registration for indigenous manufacture of Sedaxane 12.61% + Azoxystrobin 3.15% + Thiamethoxam 22.6% FS under Section 9(3) FIM vs FI.
Decision: RC deliberated the agenda and approved the grant of registration of Sedaxane 12.61% + Azoxystrobin 3.15% + Thiamethoxam 22.6% FS for the control of sheath blight, leaf blast, and brown spot in rice.
2. Willowood Chemicals Ltd.
Application: For grant of registration for indigenous manufacture of Azoxystrobin 20% + Boscalid 25% SE under Section 9(3) FIM.
Decision: RC deliberated the agenda and approved the grant of registration for Azoxystrobin 20% + Boscalid 25% SE for the control of fruit rot/spots, powdery mildew, and dieback in chilli crop, and downy mildew and powdery mildew in grape crop under Section 9(3).

3. Gharda Chemicals Ltd.
Application: For grant of registration for indigenous manufacture of Indoxacarb 12% (12% S-Isomer, 4% R-Isomer) + Chlorantraniliprole 12% OD under Section 9(3) FIM.
Decision: RC deliberated the agenda and approved the grant of registration for Indoxacarb 12% (12% S-Isomer, 4% R-Isomer) + Chlorantraniliprole 12% OD subject to submission of revised Form-I and product specification along with revised label/leaflet under Section 9(3) of the Insecticides Act, 1968.
The product is approved for the control of diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) on cabbage, fruit borer (Helicoverpa armigera) on tomato, and pod borer (Helicoverpa armigera) on chickpea crop only. The approval is also subject to fixation of MRL.
4. UPL Ltd.
Applications:
a) Fluxapyroxad Technical 98% w/w min. under Section 9(3) TIM.
b) Cyantraniliprole Technical 94% w/w min. under Section 9(3) TIM.
Decision: RC deliberated both agendas and approved the grant of registration for technical indigenous manufacture of Fluxapyroxad Technical 98% w/w min. and Cyantraniliprole Technical 94% w/w min.
5. SML Ltd.
Application: For grant of registration for technical indigenous manufacture (TIM) of Copper Hydroxide Technical 87.6% w/w min. under Section 9(3) TIM.
Decision: RC deliberated the agenda and approved the grant of registration for technical indigenous manufacture of Copper Hydroxide Technical 87.6% w/w min.
6. Tagros Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd.
Application: For grant of registration for technical indigenous manufacture (TIM) of Spirotetramat Technical 96.50% w/w min. under Section 9(3) TIM.
Decision: RC deliberated the agenda and approved the grant of registration for technical indigenous manufacture of Spirotetramat Technical 96.50% w/w min.
