Flupymezotiaz is a mesoionic insecticide developed by Qingdao KingAgroot Chemical Compound Co., Ltd. Related mesoionic insecticides include Dicloromezotiaz, Fenmezoditiaz, and Triflumezopyrim.
Flupymezotiaz originates from mesoionic chemistry, a field initially pioneered by DuPont, which explored numerous related scaffolds between 2007 and 2018. Subsequently, BASF and Bayer investigated other mesoionic scaffolds. Currently, several active compounds have emerged from mesoionic chemistry, including Dicloromezotiaz (developed by E.I. Du Pont de Nemours, now Dow, in 2009), Fenmezoditiaz (developed by BASF in 2018), and Triflumezopyrim (developed by E.I. Du Pont de Nemours, now Dow, in 2011).
