Singapore will extend its COVID-19 booster vaccination programme to adolescents aged 12 to 17 years from next month, its health ministry said on Friday.
Singapore is among the first few countries to recommend boosters for that age group, following Germany, the United States, Israel and Hungary. Reuters
COVID-19 vaccination in Singapore is an ongoing immunisation campaign against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in response to the ongoing pandemic in the country. Singapore is currently the most-vaccinated country in the world, with more than 88% of its total population (and more than 91% of its eligible populace) having completed their vaccination regimen.
The Singapore Government invested more than one billion Singapore dollars to sign advanced purchase agreements and made early down payments on promising vaccine candidates, such as Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna and CoronaVac
